Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) Presentations Schedule Announced

A memo from Liz Bankert, Assistant Provost:

As previously announced, the National Science Foundation requires that at the time of proposal submission Dartmouth has a plan to "provide appropriate training and oversight in the responsible and ethical conduct of research."  RCR training is mandatory for all undergraduate students, graduate students and post docs paid from NSF funds.  The original memo from Martin Wybourne, Vice Provost for Research and the Dartmouth RCR Plan can be found on the Office of Sponsored Projects website.  The Plan includes an on-line RCR education option.  This is a follow up memo to provide information related to the scheduling of RCR presentations.  The RCR presentations fulfill the NSF requirement.

RCR presentations are scheduled as follows:

Tuesday, January 19th from 3-5:  758 Borwell
Tuesday, January 26th from 3-5:  DCAL (in Baker Library)
Tuesday, February 16th from 3-5:  758 Borwell
Tuesday, February 23rd from 3-5:  DCAL (in Baker Library)

Additional times/dates for RCR presentation will be posted on the OSP website.
RCR presentations can also be scheduled upon request.

Topics covered include: Research Misconduct; Data Acquisition and Management; Peer Review; Mentor & Trainee Responsibilities; Conflict of Interest; and Collaborative Research.  This new requirement only applies to NSF funded lab personnel; however we encourage RCR training for all researchers.

Please email Liz Bankert with questions or to register for a session listed above.
