Now Accepting Applications for ALSF Research Grants Reach Awards - Epidemiology Grants - 'A' Awards

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF)
continues to maintain our unique approach by working directly with doctors, researchers and nurses to find new treatments and cures for all children with cancer. Simultaneously, we continue to develop new, as well as, restructure existing funding cycles to make a direct and improved impact on pediatric patients. Our grants are designed to fill critical voids in current pediatric cancer research. The result and mission is to bring hope to childhood cancer patients now and in the future.

We are pleased to announce that grant guidelines and applications are now open for submission in the following categories:

  • NEW! Reach Awards Deadline: October 15 - Apply Now
Our Reach Awards are designed to move hypothesis-driven research toward the clinic. The goal of this award is to support selected "late translational" studies needed to ultimately initiate a clinical trial. A successful application will identify an unmet clinical need relevant to the care of pediatric cancer patients and describe how the proposed project will allow for the pre-clinical research to be translated to the clinic while keeping broader clinical testing and implementation in view. Maximum of $250,000 in total costs awarded over two years.

  • 2014 Epidemiology Grants - Deadline: December 16 - Apply Now
New in 2014, we have expanded our eligible areas of epidemiological investigation to include comparative effectiveness and outcomes research. Proposals for evaluating effectiveness of interventions related to prevention, detection and treatment of childhood cancer will be considered. Maximum of $200,000 total costs awarded over two years.

"The support of the ALSF Epidemiology Grant provides funding for us to integrate data from the Children's Oncology Group with administrative data to answer clinically important questions that cannot be answered in any other currently available data set." - Richard Aplenc, MD, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
