Purpose
The purpose of this Notice is to inform applicants on changes to the 2013 receipt date, the 2013 Letter of Intent Receipt Date, the maximum project period, and budget ceilings for applications submitted to PAR-12-126 "Cooperative Research Agreements Related to the World Trade Center Health Program (U01)".
This notice also provides updated information on: the Administrator for the Mount Sinai School of Medicine Data Center, agency contacts, and page limitations for the Research Strategy component of the Research Plan.
The following changes are hereby made to the announcement:
2013 Application Receipt Date
The application due date for PAR-12-126 "Cooperative Research Agreements Related to the World Trade Center Health Program (U01)" is December 2, 2013.
2013 Letter of Intent Receipt Date
The Letter of Intent Due Date is October 2, 2013.
Section I. Funding Opportunity Description
Research Objectives
The maximum project period that can be requested is two years. The combined total budget for a two-year project may not exceed $2M. The total budget for a one-year project may not exceed $500K.

Applicants must clearly identify which type of project they are proposing and provide sufficient supporting information. In FY2014, NIOSH anticipates funding 6-10 projects.

Section II. Award Information
Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards
Funds available over the two-year period (FY2014 - FY2015) are approximately $14M to fund 10-20 projects. Awards issued in FY2014 will range from 1-2 years in duration. Awards issued in FY2015 will be for up to 1 year. All awards are contingent on the availability of funds and the submission of a meritorious application.
The combined total budget for a two-year project may not exceed $1M. The total budget for a one-year project may not exceed $250K.
Award Project Period Length
Allowable project periods are either one or two years. Throughout the project period, CDC commitment to continuation of awards will be based on availability of funds, evidence of satisfactory progress by the recipient (as documented in required reports), and the determination that continued funding is in the best interest of the Federal government.

Page Limitations
All page limitations described in the SF424 Application Guide and the Table of Page Limits must be followed. For this FOA, the Research Strategy component of the Research Plan narrative is limited to 6-12 pages. These pages limits include tables, graphs, figures, diagrams, and charts.
